HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

The overall minimum price for the SHC PD conversion is £12,500. This can be broken up into 2 sections - £6,500 for the engine itself and all the new parts, and £6,000 for fitting by our talented workshop team. This price is subject to change, although all the essential parts are included in the package, and we perform a review of your van to ensure there aren't any unforeseen hurdles, we may discover subsequent difficulties during the process of the conversion. Fear not! We will get in contact with you straight away to figure out the best course of action.

IS MY VAN COMPATIBLE?

Our Engine Conversion Kit is tailored specifically for T25/T3s and T4s with both diesel and petrol engines, providing a perfect fit no matter your model. Fear not aircooled crew - if you are interested in the PD Conversion Kit, we offer a watercooled conversion option, fitted in-house, including the coolant system retrofitted, so you can get all these great benefits too!

THERE'S OPTIONS

UPRIGHT

The upright kit is perfect for T3 dokas, sinkas and campers. For campers, a raised engine lid is provided to accommodate for the extra height of the block - ideal if you have a raised engine storage pod or similar raised interior over the engine bay. This is the standard and recommended solution.

50 DEGREE

The 50 degree model is only recommended when changing the engine lid height is not feasible. To accommodate for your Westfalia interior, SHC has designed the 50 degree kit to seamlessly fit in your T25 engine bay while maintaining the original engine lid height.

FAQs

I HAVE AN AIRCOOLED VAN, CAN I GET A PD CONVERSION?

Fear not aircooled crew - if you are interested in the PD Conversion Kit, we offer a watercooled conversion option, fitted in-house, including the coolant system retrofitted, so you can get all these great benefits too! 

THIS IS A SECOND HAND ENGINE, HOW RELIABLE CAN IT BE?

The VAG PD engine is easily the most reliable engine that VW has ever produced. With regular servicing these engines can go beyond 500,000 miles. When securing your engine, we will do our best to get hold of the highest quality engine we can, and perform a thorough review, test and replace ancillaries. 

WILL MY ORIGINAL GEARBOX BE OKAY WITH THE TORQUE?

We got together with the very talented guys at QS Tuning to formulate a custom specialist ECU to ensure that the torque output sits just below the original gearbox torque rating. This means that when you're cruising happily at 70mph in 4th (or 5th) your gearbox will be sitting pretty as you are! 

DO YOU DO A T4 CONVERSION TOO?

Absolutely! This isn't just for T25s. Give us a call and we'll whip out that old ABL and get you cruising in no time! 

I HAVE A SIX SPEED GEARBOX, CAN I STILL GET A CONVERSION?

Yes you can, we can do a 5 speed or 6 speed conversion depending on your current set up.
