The swing-out selection for other vehicles is big, but for the T3 they are few and far between- and lets be honest here- of questionable quality. We are qualified engineers.Its simple- if you want a job done properly- come to the professionals! We needed a kit to hold up to the rigours of use, so we designed one ourselves! It pays to buy a quality item,and yet one that's not heavier than the T25 itself! We checked the weight of the bulky/heavyweight ‘scaffpole’ alternatives, so we came up with an A-Frame, lightweight and stylish SHC contender. Real explorers carry alot, and do NOT want to add unnecessary weight. So the SHC solution, matches that requirement!
Our sturdy/ lightweight A-Frame carrier comes in several flavours, including a powder coated option- which makes it look very seriously attractive when bolted to the back of the van! It’s capable of carrying 15”, 16’’ and 17” wheels- and swings easily away for access to the tailgate. The build quality is as you’d expect from us, with quality welding and stainless steel rose joints which allow the carrier to swing effortlessly away.
The latch has two parts to the lock mechanism: One engages and releases the carrier from the latch on the rear of the vehicle, the other isolates to prevent unplanned openings! The SHC kit is supplied with internal reinforced panels, which sandwich the skin of the vehicle and brace everything up. Externally the unit is supported by our unique ‘wraparound’ brackets. Weight displacement makes the difference between a homebrew version, and real SHC kit.
