When working on your VW T25, understanding brake system variations is crucial to avoid mishaps. Here’s a breakdown:
 
Braking Systems:
1980–1986 ‘Early’ Models
Fixed dual-piston calipers.
Unique brake discs and pads.
1986–1992 ‘Late’ Models
Sliding single-piston calipers.
Require different brake discs and pads.
Wheel Bearings:
Late brake discs = Late bearings.
Early brake discs = Either early or late bearings (check your chassis number).
 
1985 Changeover Confusion:
For models manufactured in 1985, double-check your setup! Early discs from this period may still have late bearings.
